The NZ Nationals are at Piha this year and the Kneeboard division will be run on Thursday January 19th. Early will probably be better due to the sea-breeze, so please be there as early as possible. Entry forms are on the SNZ site here Ignore the bit about "COMPETITIVE MEMBERSHIP FEES", but remember that you have to be a member of KSNZ to enter, so there's an extry $20 to pay to KSNZ on top of the $70 to enter the Nationals |

2012 NZ Nationals The next Kneeboard comp will be in January 2012 at the Nationals at Piha in Auckland The dates are from 15th - 21st with the Kneelo section being held towards the end. This is the 50th anniversary of the Nats so it should be pretty "social". The standing rules are that you have to be a member of an affiliated club to enter and for a long time any kneelo that's entered has been deemed to be a member of KSNZ and we've paid the club affiliation fee to SNZ, however after the expense of taking a solid youth team to the Worlds this year, the coffers are looking pretty lean and this year we're asking for membership subscriptions. The implication of this is that if you want to enter the NZ Nationals this year, then there'll be a $20 KSNZ affliation fee on top of the normal entry fee. Opunake Board Riders Classic On the weekend of March 10-11th 2012 the Opunake Board Riders are having a competition and there will be an Open kneelo division. Opunake Kneelo Classic After a bit of break, Murray will be cranking up the Opo Classic on Labour Weekend 2012. On past experience, we'll probably have the best waves in the North Island that weekend |

Kneeboard Surfers back from ISA World Titles in Australia. |
|
Report by Murray Weir Kneeboard Surfing New Zealand’s team has arrived back from contesting the 2011 ISA World Kneeboard Surfing Titles, held in Phillip Island Victoria Australia. Held at Woolamai Beach and Centre Crack Beach on Phillip Island the team achieved stand out performances in the Kahunas, Pro Juniors, Cadets and Open women titles with Hamish Christophers of Taranaki making it through to the final 24 surfers of the open men.
Christophers displayed all his talents to be the standout surfer in the pro junior division (20-30 years) taking out this world title division with fellow New Zealander Kelvin Weir also of Taranaki joining Christophers in the final and placing 4th.
In the women’s division Opunake High School student Jordan Cooksley placed 2nd to eventual winner Donna Jennings from a field that also included Rebecca Heemi (Taranaki 4th) and reigning women’s world title holder Jo Moore (Taranaki) who struggled to find the waves needed to post a good score in the small conditions.
Other team members saw Craig McDonald of Auckland retaining the Kahunas Title (55-59) he won in 2009 in Opunake and Kurt Geisler (Gisborne), who showed skilful surfing taking out 2nd place in the cadets (16 and under) divison.
