George Greenough

In October 2000 I tracked down George to his Pyramid house in northern NSW and chatted for an hour or so about what he was up to at the time. Mostly he was grappling with a software manual for film editing software for his new Mac. Having little formal education, he was finding it difficult to say the least.

His pet hates:- pointed noses on surfboards, officious town councils, crowded waves and software manuals.

He had some interesting windsurfing gear lying around, all made by him, and lots of sets of shark teeth on the wall. The current project was the basis of his new movie - Surfing from a Dolphin's Perspective (Probably not the title it will be released under!)

Lots of words have been written about George. He was after all one of the major influences on board design in his day. I'm no wordsmith so won't do a rave, but here's some stuff I've accumulated.
